Contemporary Comfort
On one of Blinds Couture's newest residential window covering projects, we teamed up with an interior designer to measure, fabricate and install roman shades and draperies.

Contemporary Comfort
Contemporary design often gets a reputation for coldness. Clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and hard surfaces can create rooms that photograph beautifully but feel uncomfortable to live in. The antidote is texture. Specifically, the kind of texture that only fabric can provide.
This Denver project brought Blinds Couture together with an interior designer who understood that distinction perfectly. The designer's vision was contemporary in structure but warm in material. Every surface was considered for both its visual impact and its tactile quality. The window treatments were central to that strategy.
The Treatment Plan
The project specified roman shades and draperies across multiple rooms, each tailored to the room's function and light conditions.
Roman shades in the kitchen and bathrooms provided the clean, contained profile that contemporary design demands. Flat roman shades in a textured neutral fabric sat flush within the window frames, adding fabric warmth without disrupting the room's architectural lines.
Drapery panels in the living room and primary bedroom added the vertical dimension and softness that balanced the home's harder surfaces. The designer selected a subtly textured woven fabric in warm gray that complemented the room's stone and wood elements. Euro pleat headers on matte black track systems delivered the structured, modern silhouette the design required.
The Designer Partnership
Working with an interior designer elevates every aspect of the window treatment specification. The designer's understanding of the home's full material palette ensured that fabric selections related directly to the upholstery, the wall finishes, and the flooring. Blinds Couture's technical expertise ensured that the treatments performed as beautifully as they looked: proper light control, appropriate lining, and precise installation.
The collaboration produced rooms that are contemporary in character and genuinely comfortable to inhabit. That balance is the hallmark of thoughtful design.
